Where was fried chicken first made?
The first known evidence of fried chicken comes from the Roman cookbook Apicius, published in the 5th century. The recipe calls for chicken pieces to be coated in flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs, and then fried in olive oil. Fried chicken was also popular in medieval Europe, where it was often served at feasts. In the 19th century, fried chicken became popular in the United States, particularly in the Southern states. Today, fried chicken is enjoyed all over the world and is a staple of many cultures.
