Where do chickens get there energy from?

The energy source for all life is the sun. Chickens rely on this form of energy, although they don’t use it directly. Instead, they follow a food chain that leads back to plants. Plants receive sunlight, which they convert into energy through photosynthesis. Chickens consume plants and other organisms, transferring the stored energy from the plants to their own bodies. For instance, chickens might eat insects and other small organisms found in the vegetation of their surroundings, acquiring energy from the plants that these organisms had consumed.
