Who inspects chicken quality?
The United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is the agency responsible for meat and poultry inspection. In the case of chicken, FSIS inspectors are responsible for examining chickens before and after they are slaughtered to ensure that they are healthy and safe for human consumption. They also inspect the processing facilities to make sure that they meet sanitary standards.
