Do Spanish eat chocolate eggs at Easter?
In Spain, the tradition during Semana Santa, the week leading up to Easter, and specifically on Easter Sunday morning, is to eat mona de Pascua (the cake of Easter). Mona de Pascua is a big sweet brioche made to be broken up and shared amongst those present. In Catalonia the mona is often accompanied by hard-boiled coloured eggs or chocolate easter eggs. Although they don't usually eat just the chocolate easter eggs alone as other countries.
