How do you separate sodium chloride and sugar?

Crystallization is a process of separating a compound from a solution by crystallizing the compound out of the solution. This process can be used to separate sodium chloride and sugar because sodium chloride is much less soluble in water than sugar.

Procedure:

1. Dissolve sodium chloride and sugar in water.

2. Heat the solution to a boil and then let it cool slowly.

3. As the solution cools, sodium chloride will start to crystallize out of the solution.

4. Filter the solution to separate the sodium chloride crystals from the sugar solution.

5. Wash the sodium chloride crystals with cold water to remove any remaining sugar.

6. Dry the sodium chloride crystals.

The sodium chloride crystals can now be used for various purposes, such as cooking or making salt water. The sugar solution can also be used for various purposes, such as making candy or sweetening drinks.
