Who invented the first coffee maker?

The invention of the coffee maker is credited to the French inventor François de Balzac in 1806, who developed a device called the "coffee percolator". His design involved boiling water in a lower chamber and then allowing the steam to rise and condense on the coffee grounds held in a perforated container, producing brewed coffee. However, it was not until the late 19th century that coffee makers became widely available for domestic use, with significant advancements made by inventors like James Mason, who developed the "Mason's Coffee Pot" in 1859.
