Chocolate Alcohol Drinks
Chocolate alcoholic drinks call for a variety of alcohol types, from vodka, to rum depending on your own personal tastes. The actual type of chocolate you use in your drinks will also change with the type of cocktail you are making, as some drinks call for chocolate liqueur rather than pure cocoa or chocolate syrup.
Simple Chocolate Martini
-
For a simple chocolate martini, you will need 4 ounces of chocolate liqueur of your choice, 3 ounces of vodka and 1ounce of grated semi-sweet chocolate for garnishing your martini. Combine the the vodka and the chocolate liqueur into a cocktail mixer filled with ice. Shake to mix and strain into a martini glass. Garnish and decorate the drink with the grated semi-sweet chocolate shavings (or martini "dust") to complete your martini. Add additional thick-sliced strawberries and bananas for those who enjoy fruit with their drinks to garnish the sides of the glass.
Hot Butterscotch Cocoa Drink
-
For a hot chocolate alcohol drink, create a hot butterscotch cocoa drink. To create, combine 3/4 of an ounce of butterscotch schnapps, 5 ounces of hot chocolate and 3/4 of an ounce of coffee liqueur of your preference and stir together into a coffee mug using a spoon or another drink mixer. Add whipped cream and chocolate shavings to top off your drink. You can also add additional marshmallows to complete the hot butterscotch cocoa drink.
Strawberry Chocolate Martini
-
Purchase chocolate vodka of your choice along with fresh strawberries. Using a blender, mix 3 ounces of chocolate vodka and 1 cup of fresh strawberries to complete the martini. Serve the drink in a daiquiri glass and garnish with fresh strawberries or chocolate covered strawberries.
Chocolate Bomb
-
To create a chocolate bomb you will need a cocktail mixer, ice, vanilla vodka, chocolate liqueur and fresh cherries for garnish. Add 1 1/2 ounces of vanilla vodka and 1 ounce of chocolate liqueur to a cocktail mixer filled with ice and shake. Strain the finished chocolate drink into a martini or wine glass and garnish and top it with a fresh cherry. You can also place a cherry at the bottom of each of your "Chocolate Bomb" drinks for a sweet dessert after drinking the cocktail.
"Death by Chocolate"
-
For chocolate lovers looking for an intense cocoa drink, try creating your own "Death by Chocolate" cocktail. Combine 1 ounce of coffee liqueur, 1 ounce of chocolate syrup, 1 ounce of vodka, 1 ounce of dark crème de cacao and two scoops of chocolate ice cream in a blender and mix until smooth. Top the finished drink with whipped cream and a fresh cherry or strawberry.
