Martini

• This simple, timeless cocktail became popular in the 1920s. Traditionally, a martini is made with three-parts gin and one-part vermouth. Vodka can be used to replace gin, and a number of fruit-liqueurs and syrups can be added, creating a vast number of martini recipes available today.

Mint Julep

• Although the Mint Julep dates back prior to 1800, its popularity soared after a mention in F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" published in 1925. To make, mix four to six fresh mint leaves with one teaspoon of sugar and two teaspoons of water in a collins glass. Fill with crushed ice and add 1/2 ounce of bourbon whiskey. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

Mixed Drinks

• Mixing liquor with fruit juices and soft drinks became commonplace in the roaring 20s drinking scene. Classic examples include vodka mixed with orange or cranberry juice, or whiskey mixed with cola. If hosting a roaring 20s themed party or event, provide a variety of liquors and mixers to accompany.

Non-alcoholic Beverages

• With the Prohibition limiting the consumption of alcohol, drinking and dining establishments turned to fruit juices and soft drinks. Non-alcoholic cocktails were also popular, with bartenders experimenting by combining different fruit juices, soft drinks and syrups to flavor.
