How old is soda?
Soda, in some form, has been around for thousands of years. The earliest known soft drink was a grape soda that was created in 1510 in Italy. However, the modern soda industry began in the early 19th century with the invention of the carbonated soda fountain. The first bottled soda was invented in 1835 by Dr. John Stith Pemberton, a pharmacist from Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Pemberton's soda, which he named Coca-Cola, was originally marketed as a medicinal beverage. However, it soon became popular as a refreshing drink and quickly spread throughout the United States. By the end of the 19th century, soda had become a popular beverage in the US, and it continued to grow in popularity throughout the 20th century and into the 21st century. Today, soda is a multi-billion dollar industry and is enjoyed by people all over the world.
