How do you get rid of lumps in custard?
Method 1: Sieve the custard
1. Pour the custard into a fine-mesh sieve set over a bowl.
2. Use a spoon to stir the custard and push it through the sieve.
3. Discard any lumps that remain in the sieve.
Method 2: Blend the custard
1. Pour the custard into a blender.
2. Blend the custard on high speed for 30 seconds, or until the lumps are gone.
Method 3: Whisk the custard
1. Pour the custard into a bowl.
2. Use a whisk to vigorously whisk the custard until the lumps are gone.
Tips
* To prevent lumps from forming in the first place, make sure to whisk the custard constantly while it is cooking.
* If you do find lumps in your custard, don't despair! They can usually be removed with a little bit of effort.
* If you don't have a sieve or blender, you can also try straining the custard through a cheesecloth-lined colander.
