Over popping popcorn does it burn?
Overcooking popcorn can cause it to burn, resulting in a bitter taste and unpleasant aroma. When popcorn kernels are heated, the pressure inside them builds up, causing the kernels to eventually burst or "pop." Overcooking occurs when the kernels are exposed to heat for an extended period beyond their ideal popping time, causing them to burn. At the proper temperature and cooking time, the starch inside the kernels gelatinizes and expands rapidly, creating the fluffy and crispy popcorn we know and enjoy.
