How do you freshen up stale pistachios?
To freshen up stale pistachios:
- Heat the pistachios - Place the pistachios in a single layer on a baking sheet and heat in a preheated 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes, stirring once. Remove from oven and let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
- Sauté the pistachios. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the stale pistachios and stir, for 2 to 3 minutes. They are ready when they are browned and warmed.
- Reseal the package. Sometimes pistachios can go stale because the package wasn’t completely sealed. Check to see if the package has a small opening around the edges and apply some scotch tape to seal it properly.
- Store properly Store the pistachios in a sealed bag in a cool and dark place. Avoid exposing them to light and moisture, as this can further dry out the nuts and make them stale.
