Can you make chocolate chip cookies using only brown sugar?

Ingredients

- 2 1/4 cups (281 grams) all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 cup (226 grams) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

- 3/4 cup (150 grams) packed light brown sugar

- 1 cup (200 grams) granulated white sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

- 1 1/2 cups (225 grams) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1.) Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.) Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

3.) In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the brown sugar until combined.

4.) Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

5.) Add the dry ingredients and mix on low speed until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

6.) Use a 1 1/2 tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop 12 mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

7.) Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are just beginning to brown.

8.) Allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
