How do you make chocalate chip cookies?

Here is a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe:

Ingredients:

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- ½ teaspoon baking soda

- ¼ teaspoon salt

- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

- ½ cup granulated sugar

- ½ cup packed light brown sugar

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 2 large eggs

- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

1.) Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.) In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

3.) In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

4.) Add the eggs and vanilla extract one at a time, beating on medium speed to incorporate after each addition.

5.) Reduce the mixer speed to low and add the dry ingredients in three additions, beating until just combined after each addition. Do not overbeat the batter.

6.) Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.

7.) Use a large cookie scoop or a tablespoon to drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.

8.) Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.

9.) Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
