How do you make peanut butter cookies?
Here's a basic recipe to make peanut butter cookies:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190° Celsius).
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. In a mixing bowl or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter until creamy. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla extract and egg.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients alternately with the peanut butter, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
6. Using a tablespoon or a cookie scoop, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each ball of dough with a fork in a crisscross pattern.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 10-12 minutes, until the edges just start to turn light golden brown and the centers are set.
8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
