How do you make cookie dough ice cream on Deni maker?
To prepare cookie dough ice cream using a Deni maker, you'll need the following ingredients:
Ice Cream Base:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk (whole milk works best)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cookie Dough:
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or dark)
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Cookie Dough:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and egg yolk one at a time, until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients (flour mixture) to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using). Set aside.
2. Make the Ice Cream Base:
- In a large saucepan or pot, combine the heavy cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Do not let it boil.
- Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
3. Assemble and Freeze:
- Pour the warm ice cream base into the Deni maker (follow your Deni maker's instructions for operating it).
- Once the ice cream has partially churned and has the consistency of soft-serve, add spoonfuls of the cookie dough in small drops.
- Continue churning the ice cream until it reaches your desired consistency.
4. Transfer to Freezer:
- Once the ice cream is done, transfer it to an airtight freezer-safe container.
- Let the ice cream set in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours before serving to allow it to firm up completely.
5. Enjoy!
- Scoop and serve the cookie dough ice cream and enjoy!
You can customize your cookie dough ice cream by adding different types of chocolate chips, nuts, or other mix-ins as per your preference.
