How to Bake Agave-sweetened Chocolate Chip Cookies
Diabetics and other people with blood sugar issues can consume natural sweeteners such as agave nectar. Agave-sweetened chocolate chip cookies will not raise blood sugar levels. Select organic ingredients and only natural sugars to maximize the nutritional level of these treats.
Things You'll Need
- Large mixing bowl
- Hand mixer
- Large spoon
- Cookie scoop
- 1 1/2 cups agave nectar
- 3 cups organic white flour
- 1/2 cup organic butter (1 stick)
- 2 organic eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder (aluminum-free)
- 12 oz. organic chocolate chips
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large mixing bowl, combine butter with agave and mix well with a hand mixer or spoon. Add in the eggs, one at a time. Add in the vanilla. Mix well.
-
Add the baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix well. Add the flour, one cup at a time, and mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips until combined.
-
Scoop out the cookies onto a cookie sheet with a cookie scoop or a tablespoon. Separate them about 2 inches apart in all directions. Bake until golden, about 10 to 12 minutes.
