The Old Standby

• Wax paper has traditionally been a handy option for caramel candies, and though you might have to search a bit, some stores and online merchants carry colored or patterned wax paper specifically for wrapping candy. You can use plain white wax paper, though, and dress it up a bit by wrapping sticker strips around the candy, or tying thin ribbons on the end.

Candy Cups

• Another option is paper candy cups or miniature baking cups. Place your caramel candies in individual cups, and then place all of the cups together in a food-safe box, like a thin bakery box or an old chocolate box covered (only on the outside) in decorative gift wrap.

Cellophane

• Online merchants carry food-grade cellophane, which is also effective for wrapping caramel candies. Cellophane now comes in a plethora of colors and prints. The only precaution you must take when using this wrapper is that your candies must be completely cool before wrapping, and you must keep them away from heat so that they do not melt and stick to the cellophane. You can spray the cellophane with a light layer of non-stick spray or buttering the wrapper before adding the caramel, if desired.
