How do you make Caramilk Chocolate bars?
You can't make Caramilk chocolate bars at home with the same ingredients and process as the Cadbury factory. It's a proprietary recipe that uses specific ingredients and equipment. However, you can make a delicious caramel-flavored chocolate bar using a similar process:
Ingredients:
* 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 cup light corn syrup
* 1/4 cup milk powder
* 1/2 cup heavy cream
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 12 ounces good-quality milk chocolate, chopped
Equipment:
* Candy thermometer
* Large saucepan
* Heat-proof rubber spatula
* 9x13 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper
Instructions:
1. Prepare the caramel: In a large saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
2. Continue cooking: Clip a candy thermometer to the side of the saucepan and continue cooking, without stirring, until the mixture reaches 240°F (115°C) on the thermometer. This is the soft-ball stage.
3. Add the milk powder and cream: Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully add the milk powder, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract.
4. Cool slightly: Let the mixture cool slightly, about 10 minutes.
5. Melt the chocolate: While the caramel mixture is cooling, melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in a microwave (in 30-second intervals, stirring after each).
6. Combine the caramel and chocolate: Slowly drizzle the hot caramel into the melted chocolate, whisking constantly to combine.
7. Pour into pan: Pour the chocolate caramel mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Let it cool and set at room temperature for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
8. Cut and enjoy: Cut the chocolate into bars and enjoy!
Notes:
* For a more intense caramel flavor, you can add a pinch of salt to the caramel mixture.
* You can use different types of chocolate, like dark chocolate, to create variations.
* To get a smoother texture, try using a blender to combine the chocolate and caramel.
* Store the chocolate bars in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Keep in mind that this recipe is a homemade alternative to Caramilk bars. You won't get the exact same taste and texture, but it will be a delicious and satisfying treat!
