What is peppadew pepper?
The peppadew pepper is a mild, semi-sweet variety of Capsicum baccatum, a species of chili pepper originating from Peru. It differs from other members of the Capsicum genus in that it tends to be less pungent and has a sweeter flavor. Pepperadew peppers are typically around 1 to 2 inches in diameter and have a bright red color when mature. They are widely used in cooking, both in fresh and dried forms, and are often added to salads, pizzas, pasta dishes, and sandwiches. Due to their mild flavor and colorful appearance, peppadew peppers are also used as a decorative element in various culinary preparations.
