What do the wild olive branches represent?

In the Bible, wild olive branches represent being grafted in to the life-giving root of Jesus Christ.

Romans 11:17-24 describes the allegory of the olive tree. In it, the cultivated olive tree represents the people of Israel, while the wild olive branches represent the Gentiles who are grafted into the tree through faith in Jesus Christ. Just as the wild branches are cut off and grafted onto the cultivated tree, so too are the Gentiles grafted into the people of Israel through their faith in Jesus, becoming partakers of the blessings and promises given to Israel.
