How do you de-scale the Keurig?
To descale your Keurig, follow these steps:
1. Gather your materials. You will need a solution from mix of equal parts white vinegar and water, as well as a large mug.
2. Remove the water reservoir. Lift up the handle of the reservoir and pull it straight up and off of the Keurig.
3. Empty the reservoir. Dump out any remaining water.
4. Add the descaling solution. Pour the mixed solution into the reservoir until it reaches the "Fill" line.
5. Replace the reservoir. Put the reservoir back onto the Keurig, making sure that it clicks into place.
6. Turn on the Keurig. Press the power button to turn on the Keurig.
7. Place a mug under the spout. Choose the largest cup setting (usually 10 ounces) and place a large mug under the spout.
8. Start the descaling process. Press and hold the Descale button for 3 seconds until the DESCALE light begins to flash.
9. Let the Keurig descale. The Keurig will begin to descale, which may take several minutes. The DESCALE light will flash during this time.
10. Rinse the Keurig. When the descaling process is complete, the DESCALE light will turn solid and the Keurig will beep. Press the Stop button to stop the descaling process.
11. Empty the mug. Pour out the descaling solution from the mug.
12. Rinse the reservoir. Remove the reservoir and empty any remaining descaling solution. Rinse it thoroughly with water and then replace it on the Keurig.
13. Run a clean water cycle. Fill the reservoir with fresh water and place a mug under the spout. Press and hold the Small Cup button for 3 seconds to run a clean water cycle.
14. Discard the water. Discard the water that has been dispensed from the Keurig.
15. Your Keurig is now descaled. It is now ready to use.
Tips for descaling your Keurig:
* Descale your Keurig every 3-6 months, depending on how often you use it.
* If you live in an area with hard water, you may need to descale your Keurig more often.
* You can also use a commercial descaling solution instead of white vinegar.
