Can you season your bamboo cutting board with glycerin?
Glycerin is not suitable for seasoning bamboo cutting boards or any wooden kitchen utensils/surfaces that come into contact with food. Glycerin, especially in concentrated forms, is unsafe for ingestion and can cause adverse health effects.
Bamboo cutting boards typically require food-grade mineral oil or specific cutting board conditioner (made from natural sources or beeswax) for proper seasoning which involves regular application to nourish and condition the wood while maintaining its quality and preventing cracks or drying out.
