Things You'll Need

  • 2 1/2 pounds fresh tiger shrimp
  • Large pot
  • 2 1/2 liters of water
  • 2 tbsp. sea salt
  • Colander
  • Large bowl
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Place the shrimp in the large bowl.

  2. Discard any shrimp whose shells are broken or slippery, discolored in heads or shells, shrunken eyes, or have a strong ammonia smell.

  3. Pour the water in the large pot. Add the salt.

  4. Place the pot on the stove and bring it to a boil.

  5. Add the prawns to the water and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.

  6. Drain the prawns in the colander, situated in the sink.

  7. Fill the large bowl with ice and water, about 3/4 of the way up.

  8. Place the shrimp in the ice to cool them.

  9. Drain the shrimp and place them in the dishes you desire.
