How to Tenderize Cooked Beef
If you have cooked some beef but feel as though the texture is too tough, there is a simple method you can use to tenderize the beef and give it extra flavor. Simmering is a process that will slowly and gently break the meat down to tenderize it. By simmering the beef in an especially flavorful liquid, you can complete your task with success using very little effort. The long cooking time is more than worth the wait as the final product is tender and delicious.
Things You'll Need
- Saucepan
- Beef broth
- Fresh garlic clove
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
-
Place the beef in a large saucepan and add enough beef broth to just barely cover all the meat. If you have a beef roast, shred it before adding to the pan.
-
Add a minced fresh garlic clove and salt and pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a boil.
-
Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer the beef for anywhere between two and four hours. The longer you simmer the beef, the more tender it will become.
