How to Broil Stuffed Thick Boneless Pork Chops
Broiled pork chops make for a delicious entree all by themselves, but when you stuff them -- such as with a savory bread-based stuffing or something more exotic, such as shellfish -- you suddenly find yourself making a restaurant-quality dish at home. However, broiling stuffed pork chops can be somewhat tricky, especially if you have ingredients like cheese in the stuffing.
Things You'll Need
- Thick-cut boneless pork chops
- Paper towel
- Knife
- Stuffing mixture
- Spray vegetable oil
- Broiler pan
- Tongs
- Instant-read thermometer
Instructions

Preheat the oven's broiler on the low setting. Rinse the pork chops under cool running water. Pat the chops dry with paper towel.

Use a knife to make an incision into the side of each pork chop. Cut into each chop so that the cut comes to within 1/2 inch of all sides to create a pocket. Fill the pork chops with the stuffing of your choice.

Lightly coat a broiler pan with spray vegetable oil. Place the stuffed chops onto the broiler pan.

Broil the chops for 7 to 8 minutes on one side, depending on their thickness. Remove the broiler pan from the oven and turn the chops over using tongs. Make sure the stuffing stays inside the chops.

Broil the chops for another 7 to 8 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the stuffing, which should read at least 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the broiler pan once the pork chops reach the desired temperature. Allow the meat to rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute evenly into each of the pork chops.
