How do you cook beef roast on a spit?

### How to Cook Beef Roast on a Spit

Ingredients

* 2-3 lb beef chuck roast

* 1 tablespoon olive oil

* 1 teaspoon salt

* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

* 1/4 cup water

* 1/4 cup red wine

* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

* 1 tablespoon garlic powder

* 1 tablespoon onion powder

Instructions

1. Preheat your grill to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Trim the fat from the roast.

3. In a large bowl, combine the roast, olive oil, salt, pepper, water, red wine, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.

4. Marinate the roast for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.

5. Skewer the roast onto the spit.

6. Place the spit on the grill and cook for 2-3 hours, or until the roast is cooked to your desired doneness.

7. Let the roast rest for 10-15 minutes before carving and serving.

Tips

* If you don't have a grill, you can also cook the roast in the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and cook the roast for 3-4 hours, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

* To make sure the roast is cooked evenly, use a meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature. The roast is done when the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare, 160 degrees Fahrenheit for medium, or 170 degrees Fahrenheit for well-done.

* Serve the roast with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a salad.

Enjoy!
