In what order do you cook stir fry?
How to Stir-Fry:
1. Prep: Prepare your ingredients. Julienne vegetables, slice meat thinly, and use an aromatics blend of minced garlic, ginger, scallion whites and chili (optional).
2. Heat: Heat your wok or large pan on high until it starts to smoke. Add some oil and swirl to coat.
3. Meat: If cooking with meat, add it and stir fry until browned (not completely cooked). Remove from the wok and set aside.
4. Aromatics: Add your aromatics (garlic, ginger, scallions) and stir-fry until fragrant (30sec-1min).
5. Veggies: Add vegetables in order of cooking time. Start with long-cooking veggies like carrots, broccoli or bell pepper.
6. Sauce: Add your stir fry sauce (premixed or combine soy, Shaoxing wine, dark soy, sesame oil, a little cornstarch and water). Bring to boil and reduce heat.
7. Protein: Add your cooked meat or tofu back into the wok along with any greens or quick-cooking veggies (like baby bok choy, pea pods).
8. Finish: Stir fry until everything is just tender. Add cornstarch mixture if desired for a thickened sauce. Serve over rice.
