How to Make a Quick Apple Turnover (8 Steps)

Make the perfect apple pie in the perfect individual serving -- a turnover. This version comes together quickly when you start with a packaged crust but keeps the tempting taste of a homemade filling. For extra decadence, serve warm with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream.

Things You'll Need

  • Pastry sheet
  • 2 Fuji apples
  • Fine sugar
  • Brown sugar
  • Caramel
  • Cinnamon
  • Milk
  • Large-grain sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F. Cut the pastry sheet into 4 equal squares.

  2. Peel, core and dice the apples.

  3. Mix the apples, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 2 tablespoons white sugar, 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar and 1/2 tablespoon caramel.

  4. Spoon a quarter of the mix into the center of each pastry sheet.

  5. Fold all of the corners into the middle or fold the sheets in half diagonally to make triangle-shaped pouches.

  6. Seal the edges of the pastry with a little milk.

  7. Sprinkle the large-grain sugar and a dash of cinnamon on the outsides of each pastry.

  8. Bake until golden brown, about 10 to 15 minutes.
