When you use instant yeast and dry does it has to be moistened i mean do have always put water on both of them im comfused?

Instant yeast and active dry yeast have different requirements when it comes to how they are hydrated or moistened. Here are the guidelines for each:

1. Instant Yeast (also known as rapid-rise or quick-rise yeast):

- Instant yeast does not require any pre-hydration or moistening in most recipes. It is designed to be mixed directly with the dry ingredients without needing to be dissolved first.

- You can add instant yeast to the dry ingredients without adding any extra water compared to the recipe. Simply mix it in as you would regular flour or other dry ingredients.

- Instant yeast is most commonly used in bread-making, but can also be used for pizza, rolls, and other yeast-based recipes.

2. Active Dry Yeast:

- Active dry yeast requires pre-hydration or moistening before it can be used. It needs to be dissolved in warm water at a temperature between 105-115°F (41-46°C) to activate the yeast.

- To use active dry yeast, first, sprinkle the yeast over the warm water in a bowl or cup. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast is fully dissolved and foamy.

- Once the yeast is activated, you can then add it to your recipe as directed.

- Active dry yeast is often used in bread-making, as well as for making pizza, rolls, and other yeast-based recipes.

In summary, instant yeast can be mixed directly with dry ingredients without pre-hydration, while active dry yeast needs to be dissolved in warm water before being added to the recipe.
