Can you make almond paste with butter?
Almond paste does not contain butter; instead, it is made with sugar and almonds.
If you want to make almond paste, here is a recipe:
Almond Paste:
Ingredients:
1 cup (120 g) whole blanched almonds
1 cup (200 g) powdered sugar
1 large egg white
Instructions:
In a food processor or blender, grind the almonds until they are finely chopped and resemble coarse flour.
Add the powdered sugar and egg white to the food processor. Process until the mixture is smooth and resembles a paste.
If the paste is too dry, add a little bit more egg white. If it's too wet, add a little more almond flour.
Transfer the almond paste to a bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using.
Almond paste can be used to make a variety of desserts, such as marzipan, frangipane, and almond croissants.
