Can you use regular flour instead of self- rising flour?
Regular flour, also known as all-purpose flour, can be used as a substitute for self-rising flour, although slight modifications may be required to achieve the desired texture and appearance of the recipe.
* Baking: 1 teaspoon baking powder should be added for every cup of regular flour used, along with ¼ teaspoon of salt if it's not already part of the recipe. If using baking powder only, it also necessary to add an acidic component to activate the leavening, such as 1 cup buttermilk for each cup of flour, or add 1 ½ teaspoon lemon juice and ¼ teaspoon less liquid for each teaspoon of baking powder used.
