How to Store Monkey Bread (3 Steps)
Monkey bread is baked in a tube pan, which makes its round shape a challenge to store. Due to the richness of the dough recipe, it is also very moist. If it doesn't get devoured on the spot, store it in a way that helps maintain that moisture. That way, when you reheat it later, the taste and texture will be similar to when you first took it out of the oven. This bread keeps relatively well due to the naturally preservative powers of the sugar and spices used in the recipe.
Things You'll Need
- Plastic wrap
- Spatula
- Airtight cake or pie keeper (optional)
- Big bowl with airtight lid (optional)
Instructions
-
Wrap your leftover monkey bread tightly with plastic wrap. Scrape as much of the glaze out of the pan as you can with a spatula and smear it liberally all over the leftover bread as you wrap it.
-
Place it inside an airtight cake or pie keeper. If you have a big bowl with an airtight lid that can accommodate your monkey bread loaf, you can use that instead.
-
Put your container of monkey bread in your refrigerator for storage. Monkey bread recipes usually contain eggs, butter and milk, so leftover bread should be refrigerated to ensure food safety.
