How to Keep Crepes Warm
Crepes are a thin batter bread suitable for wrapping around both savory and sweet fillings. These pancake-like disks have a slightly spongy texture that complements a variety of warm fillings. Making crepes is similar to making pancakes. You can only make one at a time in a crepe pan. A large griddle allows you to make four or five at once, but a full recipe makes 10 or more crepes. Keeping the first ones finished warm while you finish preparing the rest ensures everyone gets a fresh, hot crepe.
Things You'll Need
- Plate or pan
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. If your oven has a warmer setting, preheat it on this setting.
-
Move the oven rack to the center position. Place a heat-proof plate or pan on the rack.
-
Place the crepes on the plate as you make them. The low temperature in the oven keeps them warm without further cooking them.
-
Remove the crepes from the oven immediately before serving or filling them. Replace the filled crepes in the oven if you are not serving them immediately.
