How do you bake a Frozen meat pie with Pillsbury crust?
To make a frozen meat pie using a Pillsbury crust, follow these steps:
Ingredients:
- 1 Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust or two pre-made crusts
- 1 pound of frozen ground meat (beef, pork, or turkey)
- 1 cup of frozen mixed vegetables (such as peas, carrots, and corn)
- 1/2 cup of beef broth or water
- 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg wash (1 beaten egg mixed with 1 tablespoon of water)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the Pillsbury pie crust package, typically around 425°F (220°C).
2. Thaw the frozen pie crust according to the package instructions, or let it sit at room temperature until softened.
3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the frozen ground meat until it is browned and fully cooked. Drain the excess fat.
4. Add the frozen mixed vegetables to the skillet and cook them for a few minutes until heated through.
5. Stir in the beef broth or water, flour, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring continuously, until it has thickened into a sauce.
6. Place one of the thawed Pillsbury pie crusts into a pie plate. Trim the edges if needed.
7. Pour the meat and vegetable filling onto the pie crust.
8. Top the filling with the second pie crust. Trim the edges, fold them under, and crimp them to seal the edges.
9. Brush the top crust with the egg wash.
10. Bake the meat pie in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
11. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Your Frozen meat pie with Pillsbury crust is now ready to enjoy!
