How to Make Bisquick Waffles
You can make Bisquick waffles quickly and easily, either using Bisquick from a box or by making your own Bisquick (see link, below). How to make Bisquick waffles:
Things You'll Need
- 2 cups Bisquick mix
- 1 1/3 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- bowl
- measuring cup
- mixing spoon
- waffle iron
Instructions
-
Plug in and heat up the waffle iron first. Indication of waffle iron readiness varies by brand, so be sure to check your user manual if you are unsure about how to operate the waffle iron to make Bisquick waffles.
-
In a medium-sized bowl, measure 1 egg, 1 1/3 cup milk, 2 teaspoons vegetable oil, and 2 cups Bisquick mix. When I make Bisquick waffles, I like to use one one-third cup measuring cup. This way I can fill it 4 times for the milk, 6 times for the Bisquick, and then use the measuring cup later when measuring the batter into the hot waffle iron.
-
Mix the batter with a spoon just until mixed. Over-mixing will result in tough waffles.
-
Slowly pour the batter into the waffle iron. I find that for a four-inch by four-inch waffle, using a one-third cup measuring cup and filling it most of the way with the batter helps to create uniform waffles and cuts down on spilling when making Bisquick waffles.
-
Carefully watch your waffle iron so that the waffles do not burn. Usually the user manual will give an indication of how long each batch of waffles should take to cook. For my waffle iron, for example, it takes about 3 minutes to make Bisquick waffles.
-
When the waffles are done cooking in the waffle iron, carefully remove with a spoon. Serve as desired, with fruit (as pictured) or butter and syrup, or anything else you like!
