How to Keep Waffles Crispy When Feeding a Crowd
There is nothing quite like a waffle right out of the iron. The butter melts perfectly and the crunch of the crust pairs perfectly with the soft doughy inside. Cold waffles are almost a different meal entirely. They turn bricklike when left alone on the counter or rubbery and limp under a pile. Neither is very appetizing -- and they are certainly unsuitable for your guests. If you have a crowd of hungry people waiting, and you want to keep them coming back, keep your waffles crisp and delicious until you're ready to serve everyone.
Things You'll Need
- Baking tray
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit when you preheat your waffle maker.
-
Place a baking tray on the middle rack of the oven.
-
Place each waffle on the baking tray as soon as it is done cooking. The waffles will remain crisp and ready for roughly 20 minutes. After that, they begin to dry out.
