What is the Egg Bowl?

The Egg Bowl is the annual college football rivalry game between Mississippi State University (the Bulldogs) and the University of Mississippi (the Rebels).

Here's why it's called the Egg Bowl:

* The rivalry is intense and historic, dating back to 1902.

* The trophy awarded to the winner is an egg-shaped trophy, officially called the Golden Egg.

* The rivalry is so heated that it's sometimes called the "most intense rivalry in college football."

The Egg Bowl is usually played on the last Saturday of the regular season, and it's a huge event for both schools and the state of Mississippi.
