Can you cook an egg in the microwave its shell?
While it is technically possible to cook an egg in its shell in the microwave, it is extremely dangerous and can result in a violent explosion.
1. The egg yolk and white are heated unevenly, causing a buildup of pressure inside the shell.
2. The shell can then suddenly rupture, propelling hot egg and shell fragments at high speed.
3. This can cause severe burns, eye injuries, or other injuries.
For safety reasons, it is strongly recommended to cook eggs in the microwave without the shell or by following approved, microwave-safe cooking methods.
