What is the recipe for cereal bars?
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 3/4 cup rice crispies cereal
- 1 cup shredded wheat cereal
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup nonfat dry milk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- one pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/2 cup chopped dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds or walnuts)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius).
2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
3. Combine the oats, rice crispies, shredded wheat, flour, brown sugar, dry milk, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
4. In a small saucepan, combine the vegetable oil, honey and vanilla extract over low heat. Cook until the honey is melted.
5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
6. Fold in the cranberries and nuts.
7. Press the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
9. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
