How to Make a Quick Homemade Bread (7 Steps)
You have a hunger for hot, yeasty bread, but you don't want to let it rise for hours. You are in luck. The easiest homemade bread is quick and easy. Follow these steps to whip up a simple batter bread recipe.
Things You'll Need
- Mixing bowl
- 4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 packages yeast
- 1/2 stick soft margarine
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 eggs
- 2 greased loaf pans
Instructions

Take a large mixing bowl. Add 1/3 of the flour and the rest of the dry ingredients, which are 1 1/3 cups of flour, a 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tsp. of salt, and two packages of yeast.

Add a 1/2 stick of softened margarine. Pour 1 cup of hot water over the margarine and mix thoroughly. This will result in a very thin batter.

Mix two eggs into the batter. Follow up with another cup of flour. Thoroughly mix the ingredients.

Include enough flour to make a thick batter, scraping the mixing bowl as you combine the ingredients.

Place the mixture to the side, out of any drafts, and cover with a dishtowel. Allow the mixture to rise at room temperature for one hour.

Pour the batter into two greased loaf pans, after the bread has risen until it has doubled in bulk. Fill the pans only 2/3 full with batter.

Bake the bread in a 400 degree F oven for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when checked. Remove from the pans and allow the bread to cool upside down. Spread with butter and enjoy.
