How can i tell the correct texture when making bread?
There are a few ways to tell if bread has the correct texture.
1. Touch Test: Gently press the bread with your finger. It should spring back when you remove your finger. If it doesn't spring back, the bread is likely under-proofed.
2. Poke Test: Poke the bread with your finger. The hole should slowly fill up. If the hole doesn't fill up, the bread is likely over-proofed.
3. Look and Feel: The bread should be golden brown on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It should also have a slight yeasty or sourdough aroma.
4. Sound Test: When you tap the bread, it should make a hollow sound. If it makes a dull sound, the bread is likely under-baked.
5. Tear Test: Tear off a piece of bread. It should tear easily and have a slightly chewy texture.
