How to Make Green Tomato Bread (7 Steps)
This delicious bread is a dream come true for gardeners. You have green tomatoes on the vines and can't wait to use them? Don't like fried green tomatoes? Weather keeping your tomatoes from ripening? Well here is your answer... Green Tomato Bread!
Things You'll Need
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons grounded cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups grated unpeeled green tomatoes
Instructions

Take large mixing bowl and beat the eggs until light.

Add the sugar, oil, vanilla, tomatoes, cinnamon and cloves to the eggs and mix together.

In a seperate mixing bowl mix the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder together.

Add the flour mixture to the tomato mixture and mix together well.

Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.

Bake in a preheated oven at 325 degrees F for one hour. You may have to adjust the time for your oven. A toothpick will come out of the center clean when it is done.

Cool and enjoy! In my personal opinion this is best enjoyed with a tall, ice cold glass of milk.
