How do you propagate a zucchini?
Step 1: Harvest the seeds.
1. Allow a few zucchini fruits to mature on the vine until the skin hardens and turns brown.
2. Cut open the fruit and remove the seeds.
3. Rinse the seeds thoroughly with water to remove any pulp.
4. Spread the seeds out on a paper towel and allow them to dry completely.
Step 2: Prepare the seeds for planting.
1. Fill a small container with potting soil.
2. Plant the seeds about 1/2 inch deep into the soil.
3. Water the soil thoroughly.
4. Place the container in a warm, sunny location.
Step 3: Transplant the seedlings.
1. Once the seedlings have grown to a height of about 4 inches, they are ready to be transplanted into the garden.
2. Choose a location in the garden that receives full sun.
3. Space the seedlings about 2 feet apart.
4. Water the seedlings thoroughly.
Step 4: Care for the plants.
1. Water the plants regularly, especially during hot and dry weather.
2. Fertilize the plants every few weeks with a balanced fertilizer.
3. Pinch back the tips of the vines to encourage branching.
4. Harvest the zucchini when the fruits are about 6 inches long.
