How deep do cauliflower roots go?
The primary roots of a cauliflower plant ( Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) may grow up to 2 feet (0.6 m) deep if the soil conditions are favorable. While the primary roots penetrate deep into the soil, cauliflower also produces a network of secondary roots that mainly concentrate within the upper 1 foot (0.3m) of the soil, where most water and nutrients are found. The extent and depth of cauliflower root growth can be influenced by soil type, moisture availability, and overall cultural practices.
