How to Eat Plantains
Plantains are bananas are technically the same fruit, although the plantain is typically larger and less sweet than a banana - you can't just peel and eat a plantain as your would a banana. These extremely starchy fruits do not sweeten as much as bananas when they ripen. Plantains are used as a starchy vegetable like potatoes in Latin and Indian cuisine. The skins of plantains are not as easy to remove as banana peels. You must cook plantains before eating them because they will be too dry and starchy without cooking.
