What is right to say edible or eatable?
Both "edible" and "eatable" are correct, but they have slightly different connotations:
* Edible is the more formal and common word. It simply means something can be eaten, regardless of whether it tastes good or not.
* Eatable is less common and often suggests that something is barely palatable, or at least not particularly appealing.
Here's an example:
* Edible: "The mushroom is edible, but I wouldn't recommend eating it."
* Eatable: "The food at the party wasn't great, but it was at least eatable."
In most cases, edible is the better choice. However, if you want to emphasize that something is barely palatable, eatable might be the more appropriate word.
