What will you use to make a banana leaf bag?
Materials needed:
1. Banana leaves
2. Scissors or a sharp knife
3. Twine or string
Instructions:
Step 1:
Choose large, fresh, and clean banana leaves. Avoid leaves with tears or holes.
Step 2:
Cut the banana leaves into rectangles or squares. The size will depend on the size of your bag. For example, you might use 12-inch by 12-inch rectangles.
Step 3:
Fold each rectangle in half lengthwise. Then, fold it in half again lengthwise.
Step 4:
Fold down the top edges of the rectangle to create a flap. The flap should be about 1-inch wide.
Step 5:
Fold the sides of the rectangle into the center. Fold one side in first, then fold the other side over it.
Step 6:
Tie the twine or string around the folded sides to secure the bag.
Step 7:
Optional: You can add embellishments to your bag, such as ribbons or beads.
Your banana leaf bag is now ready to use. You can use it to store food, carry items, or even as a gift bag.
