Where are chips from?

Potato chips originated in Saratoga Springs, New York, in 1853. Chef George Crum was working at Moon's Lake House when a customer complained that his French fries were too thick. In response, Crum sliced the potatoes as thinly as he could and fried them until they were crispy. The customer loved them, and soon other people began ordering them as well. Crum's potato chips quickly became a popular snack, and they have remained so ever since.
