When was jell O made?
Jell-O was first introduced to the public in 1897.
However, the story starts a bit earlier:
* 1845: A chemist named Peter Cooper created a gelatin dessert, but it didn't gain widespread popularity.
* 1897: A man named Pearle B. Wait bought the recipe for gelatin dessert and began selling it commercially under the name "Jell-O".
So, while the foundation was laid earlier, the official birth of Jell-O as we know it was in 1897.
